Automate Your Social Media with AI: A Step-by-Step Guide
Aug 12, 2024After a long day of work, the last thing you want to worry about is planning your social media posts. Imagine if you could train AI to write in your tone and post for you automatically every day. This would help build your brand and engage your followers effortlessly. Today, we’ll show you how to set up this system using make.com, a powerful RPA tool that strings together different software in an automated flow.
Getting Started with make.com
Make.com allows you to create no-code automation scenarios. After setting up your account, create a new scenario. The first step is to set up a trigger. We'll use a Google Sheet to input the URL of a recent article about your industry. The AI will then write social media posts based on this article.
- Create a Google Sheet: Input a recent article URL into the sheet.
- Set Up the Trigger: In make.com, select Google Sheets and set it to watch for new rows.
- Schedule the Automation: Change the interval to once a day at 8:00 a.m.
Integrating Perplexity AI
Next, we'll use Perplexity AI to summarize the article. Perplexity can access the web in real-time, unlike some other models which may have outdated information.
- Set Up Perplexity: Get an API key from Perplexity and integrate it with make.com.
- Create a Chat Completion: Use the API key to set up a module that summarizes the article from your Google Sheet.
Writing Social Media Posts
Now, we need to create posts for different platforms using AI.
- Set Up Routers: Create four routers for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Generate Content with AI: Use models like OpenAI's GPT-4 or CLA to generate the posts. Input prompts that instruct the AI to write engaging content based on the summarized article.
Automating Image Generation for Instagram
For Instagram, we’ll also generate images using OpenAI's DALL-E.
- Generate Images: Create a module to generate images based on the article summary.
- Integrate with Instagram: Connect the image URL and caption to your Instagram post module.
Connecting to Social Media Accounts
Finally, connect the automation to your social media accounts.
- Facebook: Connect to your Facebook page and set up the post module.
- Instagram: Use Instagram for Business to create photo posts.
- Twitter (X): Set up a module to create posts.
- LinkedIn: Connect to LinkedIn and set up a text post module.
Testing and Running the Automation
Before running the automation, test it to ensure everything works correctly. You can review posts by sending them to your email before posting automatically.
AI for Social Media Automation
Setting up an AI-driven social media system can save you time and consistently engage your audience. Make sure your Google Sheet is populated with enough article URLs to keep the automation running smoothly.
